On Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 December, Sevenoaks competed in the British Schools Short Range Winter Open on Saturday and the West Kent Rifle League Christmas Shoot on Sunday.

British Schools Short Range Winter Open
This was hosted by Wellington College on their range. We faced tough opposition from Gresham's and Wellington, with other competitors including Reeds School and Marlborough. The shoot consisted of three 10-bull targets; the third was a time limit: 90 seconds to fire ten rounds. 

Our A team put in a respectable performance considering this was an away match, finishing 6th and it was tight between them and 4th place. Fran Vernon was our champion for the day who won her age class, came 5th in the individual and 3rd in the time limit shoot.

West Kent Rifle League Christmas Shoot
Four Sevenoaks shooters faced the mammoth English Match, 60 shots at 50m (scores out of 600) at the Lord Roberts Centre, Bisley Camp. There were 40 competitors from 8 British clubs. Fran Vernon finished 5th in B class and also won the Ladies event (Gravesend Cup) with 560 points. The winning B class score was 575. Tanay Modi destroyed the opposition in C class (Maidstone Cup) winning it and the Junior event (Darenth Cup) with 563 points.
