SH Valentine's Dinner

School House embraced the inner romantic and celebrated Valentine's Day. The School House sixth form  invited a guest each to join them in the House for a 3 course meal prepared by their fellows (Rob, Raph and Dan with Pete acting as sous-chef).

Raph's starter of mozarella, plum tomato and Parma ham was a great success. Rob prepared the main course of ginger citrus chicken with herb rice and salad which was followed by home-made meringue with raspberries and blueberries. Coffee was served with some chocolate digestive nibbles created by Dan and artistically cut by Phil. Overall the food was superb and very well-planned by the boys.

The preparation and service ran like clock-work due to enthusiastic year 9s and very able year 11s (Sam H and Harry S). Mrs Hebbert and Mrs Willis ensured that the kitchen crew were well watered and fed for their labours.

The girls were welcomed by the nominated greeters, Tom and Luke, given a glass and subjected to the SH chat. The Quiet room has been transformed by an eager crew under the direction of Phil and Nick F. Isobel (8 years) had been insistant on retaining artistic control of the table decorations which wasn't a bad thing. Everyone sat down to a fantastic dinner which excepting the odd slip (cold tea, forgotten plates and Harry L giving the most inappropriate speech since Pip's) went very smoothly.  Will thanked Mrs Willis and Mrs Hebbert for all their support.
