In the run up to Creative Writing week Mr Richards (Drama) came to School House on a dark Thursday evening to run a poetry/lyric writing workshop.
There were 15 boys of all ages learning the basics of rhyme and rhythm. The boys (who at first were a little sceptical about extra work and poetry) were not only bowled over by Mr Richards' teaching style and enthusiasm but also by their own resourcefulness. Mr Willis admitted to learning a great deal although, by his own admission, from a very low base.
Many thanks to Mr Richards for his time and energy.
Special mention must go to the creativity of Kolapo, Oscar, Phil and Theo The following lines are an extract of the creative output:
Sevenoaks School is a very good school,
All the boys and the girls are attractive and cool
The students don’t stray ‘cause they fear state school
And I blooming well think that we’re all wicked cool
My school will make you feel proud
Shout to heaven shout it loud
Founders look down to the ground
At the masterpiece they found!
It’s so cold here it’s been cold for ages
So we’re burning up our maths book pages
So switch to the oaks and you’ll get smarter
If not, just become a hot pro darter
