SH Charlton Athletic Football Trip

On a Tuesday in November School House and Johnsons went to the Valley Stadium in Charlton to watch this year’s draw: Charlton Athletic Football Club versus Bristol Rovers.  We had front row seats for what was to become an eventful game consisting of 6 goals. The atmosphere was exciting as the stands started to fill up. Before the match we had a good view of the players warming up. During the warm-up Bristol Rovers seemed to be more organised, but the end result of the game contradicted this observation, as their possession was poor compared to the intensity of Charlton’s play.

In the first 3 minutes Charlton proved their skill by scoring a lovely goal from Mooney. Charlton were awarded a penalty, which they took advantage of. At half time the scores were level as people started filing out to buy refreshments and food. We returned to our seats for the beginning of the second half.

The game ended with the score 4-2 to Charlton, after two eventful halves. Coupled with the atmosphere and the events of the game, it turned out to be a very enjoyable and memorable trip. Many thanks to Mr Willis for organising the trip and to Luke Austen for organising the raffle for charity. We would love to go next year.
