Kent vs. Sussex School House Trip
The Friends Provident Twenty 20 match promised a good atmosphere in the Kent home ground. The smell of hotdogs and alcohol filled the air. The pre-match atmosphere was made better by the warm weather.
Sussex won the toss and chose to field. Denly and Rob Key opened the batting for the hopeful Kent team. They were off to a shaky start when Denly got bowled out for 5 after 7 minutes by Martin-Jenkins. Rob Key was then caught by Hodd on 23. The rest of the team got out for similar scores until Stevens who lasted out till the end of the innings, making the highest total of 52 runs. Sussex got off to a much better start with McCullum getting out for 16 but Prior making a solid 47, only to be caught by Tredwell. The rest of the batsmen got between 9 and 24 runs. The last over which was a close one ended with Sussex winning the match due to some nervous bowling.
Overall a very enjoyable trip. We would love to go next year. Thanks to Mr Willis for getting the tickets.
