Sevenoaks School was delighted to win the Girls’ Team Race at this year's Knole Run.
On Saturday 15 January 2011, 400 runners came to Sevenoaks from across Britain to take part in the 37th Senior Knole Run. There was even greater anticipation this year, following 2010’s unfortunate cancellation. People participated in one of two races, either the girls' two-mile run or the boys' six-mile run.
In the Girls' Race, a brilliant team effort ensured Sevenoaks were in first place overall. There were great individual performances by Lucy Reid, who came 2nd, and Ruth Bourne in 3rd. Victoria Walker of St Albans School won the Individuals Competition in an astounding 12 minutes 32 seconds, almost two minutes faster than the winning time of 2009.
In the Boys' Race, 35 teams competed, with Judd winning the team race. Sevenoaks came 15th, led by Hanro Rossouw in 32nd place and Alex Branford 69th. The individual winner was James Ogilvie of Uppingham, who finished in 33:37. He was followed by Chris Lloyd of Judd and Tom Jervis of Manchester Grammar School.
