Sevenoaks Girls through to another sporting National Final!

Sevenoaks School girls reached yet another sporting National Final at the end of last week when the U16 hockey team joined the Inter Girls Cross Country team, the U16 Netball team and the Senior Tennis team on their respective quests for national glory. A number of fantastic individual and team performances mean that the Sevenoaks School flag will fly around the country at four different National sporting finals, which is a superb achievement for all athletes involved.

Cross Country
The roll of exhilarating success began back in November with cross country when the Inter Girls team came third in the regional round of the English Schools Cross Country Championships. Ruth Bourne's brilliance once again shone through as she finished first and led the team to progress through to the National Finals on 26 March in Newcastle.
Team: Ruth Bourne, Tabitha Adams, Georgina Barker, Chloe Rouse

U16 Netball
Next, the U16 Girls Netball team showed their prowess on court by being crowned Kent Champions this month. They progressed through to the regional finals where their outstanding performances saw them narrowly finish second to Coloma Convent School after they were all square on points but had just 1 goal less on goal difference. This means they will compete at the All England National Netball Finals in Southampton on 19 March.

Senior Tennis
Getting wind of the standard that seems to be the theme this year, the Senior Tennis Girls also decided they fancy a part of the National action when they beat Benenden A team 4-2, reaching the National Finals of the Aegon Cup, which take place at the Reebok Arena in Bolton on 18 and 19 March.

U16 Hockey
Not to be outdone, last week the U16 Hockey team beat Wilsmslow School 3-1 in their play-off match to qualify for National Finals at Cannock on 3-4 March. Rising star Lily Elliott has also been selected in the England U16 Hockey squad and is preparing to make her international debut later this year in Valencia.
