Sevenoaks School is at the top of the Department for Education’s KS4 performance tables, published yesterday.

It tops the list for the percentage of pupils achieving all subjects of the English Baccalaureate, a performance measure introduced in 2010, which recognises the proportion of pupils achieving A*-C passes in English, Maths, two science subjects, a modern or ancient language, and either History or Geography.

Sevenoaks is also the top performing independent school at A level or equivalent.

The performance data, released for the first time, is based on the results of more than 3300 secondary schools’ GCSE and A Level or alternative exams.
