Housemistress: Mrs Kristine Lewis    kel@sevenoaksschool.org

Well the heavy snow (all couple of inches of it) brought us to a stand still and as the school closed, Sennocke doors opened and the girls made full use of the extra time off.  Sleds were dragged into Knole, snow angels appeared in the fresh fallen snow, some little and large snowbodies were dotted about campus and Waitrose very quickly sold out of chocolate, crisps and sweets!  There was of course some work going on as many teachers set homework by firefly and others managed to trudge in and offer revision sessions to the Upper Sixth.  The Sennocke Centre was full to the brim with many taking part in football, badmintion, basketball, squash and gym.  But that seems a distant memory now as we have had some beautifully sunny days recently and from the comfort of indoors you could easily be led to think Spring is nigh, however it is still bitterly cold outside.  There is the never ending battle of getting the girls to dress appropriately for the weather conditions, and the sun has fooled many into thinking it is warm enough for shorts!

We are being inspected this week, whilst it can be a nerve racking and worrying time for teachers and students too, I am excited to share the wonderful environment that I feel we create both in Sennocke and in the wider school community.  Of course I expect to learn something from the process and, as always, aim to improve in whatever way is possible.  I would welcome any suggestions you as parents may have, now and at any other time.

As half term approaches I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that at the end of Lent term most of the girls will have to pack up their belongings and store them in our cupboards as Sennocke will be used to host the Easter Revision Course.  Half term may be an opportunity to bring some items home.

Check out the forthcoming events on this page and the school's main website.  This term is packed full of events as usual, including sporting fixtures, drama productions, concerts and more.   If there is anything that you, as a parent, would like to see on these parent pages then please do drop me an email (link above) and let me know.
