Ruth Bourne sets new course record in 2012 Knole Run

The 38th Boys Knole Run and the 16th Girls Knole Run took place in Knole Park on Saturday 14 January. It was a sunny but cold day, almost ideal conditions for the race, though one or two parts of the course were still icy even in the afternoon.

The Girls race started first, at 2.30pm: over 20 teams entered and the race was won by some distance by Ruth Bourne of Sevenoaks School in a new course record of 12.05 with Sevenoaks School winning the team competition (Ruth Bourne 1st place, Tabitha Adams 9th, Nadia Ogilvie 10th and Nicola Wilkinson 12th).

The Boys race began at 2.40pm, with over 40 teams competing this year. Henry Pearce of Tonbridge School won the race in a time of 32.24 and the team competition was won by Judd School. Thus all four events were won by local runners.

Sevenoaks Boys took 7th place in the team competition, with Hanro Rossouw 14th, Jake Spence 21st, Chris Olley 23rd, Alex Branford 92nd, Jonah Mendelsohn 105th and Jan Sokol 114th. This was our best result in the boys race for over 25 years and we were the highest placed co-educational school. Full results and more pictures.
