Reunions in 2009

50th Reunion Lunch - 14 October

The servery at the Sennocke Centre was filled to capacity as forty-five OS from the classes of 1959 and 1960 and their wives returned to the school to celebrate 50 years since leaving.  A warm welcome was given by Mike Bolton followed by a spontaneous reply from Chris Birch.  Lunch was a noisy affair thoroughly enjoyed by all, with the air full of reminiscences and stories of life at school at the end of the 1950s.  After lunch a tour of the school provided an opportunity to revisit familiar locations and also to see the changes that have been made since their days at the school. By the time the group reached Manor House many had fallen by the wayside but others pressed forward to the boarding houses where the Matrons of Park Grange and Johnsons were incrediby welcoming.  It was a wonderful day.

25th Reunion Dinner - 18 September

The enthusiasm and goodwill of the class of 1984 meant that the reunion dinner on 18 September was a huge success.  Forty-nine OS and their partners were joined by seven members of staff for a black tie dinner.

The Head, Katy Ricks welcomed the class who had come from as far as Ghana and Pennsylvania to be part of the evening.  Mark Pitcairn-Knowles gave the reply aided by spontaneous recollections from the assembled crowd.  Tim Holt then exhorted his classmates to gather for a group photo.  The evening ended all too early, at which point many headed off to the Royal Oak and then on to the familiar surroundings of the homes of parents of their old friends.

Founders Day - 27 June

The Sennockian Club held its annual open house on Founder's Day. On a glorious day OS sat on Manor House lawn with their picnics and took advantage of the opportunity to renew their acquaintance with the school and each other. Some looked in on the events which were taking place around the campus.

All OS are very welcome to attend the open house on Founder's Day and we very much hope that you will come in 2010.

20th Reunion Dinner - 15 May

The OS office was uncertain how many of the class of 1989 would accept the invitation to return to the school for their 20th reunion dinner. In the end a fantastic response resulted in 61 OS attending the event with many bringing partners. Guests came from as far away as Hong Kong, Australia, Canada and, as Mike Bolton said in his greeting, Dunton Green! Members of staff and former members of staff joined the guests for drinks in the library followed by a delicious dinner in the dining hall and quite a few of the OS went on to celebrate late into the night at other venues in Sevenoaks. The overwhelming feeling was that their 25th reunion cannot come soon enough!

10th Reunion Dinner - 25 April

There was a record turnout for the tenth reunion of the class of 1999 held at the school on Saturday 25 April.  Over 100 former students and staff had drinks on Jockey's Platch before dinner in the dining hall.  Mike Bolton, the Undermaster, greeted the guests and a lively party ensued.  OS came from the US, Germany, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland and Namibia as well as from all over the UK for the evening.
