Lesley Millar was awarded an MBE for services to education in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in June 2011. Lesley taught weaving and textiles for 24 years at the school, and left in 2004. She is currently Professor of Textile Culture and Director of the Anglo Japanese Textile Research Centre at the University for the Creative Arts in Surrey.
At the same time Mark Pyper (79 – 90) was awarded an OBE, also for services to education. Mark was Housemaster at Johnsons, Registrar and Deputy Head before moving to the Headship of Gordanstoun School, 1990 – 2011.
Our congratulations also go to Old Sennockian Major James Lane (87-92), The Royal Dragoon guards, who was presented with an MBE for his outstanding work in the Armed Forces.
