PG Middle School: Sound of the Underground concert

With Middle School Charity week approaching,  ambitious as ever the girls of PG Middle began to organise the Sound of the Underground Concert - practically the climax of the whole of middle school charity week, even if we do say so ourselves! The date was set for Thursday 10th May, and the time 5.30pm.

Through a very well connected Violet Bennett, the first thing was to secure a range of “fresh” talent to perform to ensure that it would be a charity concert not to be forgotten.  And so, with this crucial task complete, the preparations began; the team of PG girls was unstoppable: posters were made, tickets were sold, performers were gathered and copious amounts of cake was prepared. By 5.30 on Thursday evening the Common room was abuzz with anticipation and filled with the sweet aroma of the PG girls’ baking….(admittedly a bit of Tesco’s and Waitrose’s baking as well).

The PG year nines had done a cracking job of preparing the common room and just five minutes behind schedule, this momentous concert kicked off. Three of PG Middle’s finest: Jenny Hack, Violet Bennett and Zoe Brandon all made stunning performances, and by the end of the evening a good time, it was agreed, had been had by all. The final sum that we raised was just under £600, and the PG girls returned to the house with a sigh of content at being the Middle School’s philanthropic heroes.
