The weekend of 9-10 April saw the 2011 Varsity Yacht Race between Oxford and Cambridge, held on the Solent as part of the Warsash Spring Championship. Old Sennockians represented both universities with Jonathan Turnbull (09) and Georgia Trapp (10) sailing for Oxford with John Platts-Mills (06) as Captain, and Peter Bunch (05), Felix Danczak (08) and Sarah Hughes (09) sailing for Cambridge. Chief Umpire for the event was former member of staff at Sevenoaks School Bruce Hebbert. Oxford University were triumphant, securing victory over Cambridge in all four races and winning back the Varsity Cup.
