Year 8 Normandy Study Trip

The whole of Year 8 visited Normandy for five days from the 7 to 11 June. During the stay there were visits to Arromanches, Omaha beach, Bayeux market, cathedral and, of course, the famous tapestry. The group also had an ebullient tour around a cider farm and spent time in St Malo and the Mont St Michel, despite some fairly unforgiving downpours.

In the evenings there were lessons in Geography, History, Poetry, Biology and Chemistry. Each group delivered a presentation in French on an original item they had purchased in Bayeux market. The winning group were duly rewarded for performing their work in rap form, accompanied by the beats of a djembe!

This was an enjoyable and at times sobering trip and the group should be commended for their exemplary behaviour throughout the stay.
