Congratulations to Lily Elliott on two great performances for the England U16 girls hockey team at the end of May.
England's girls rounded off a difficult week with a 3-0 victory over Scotland with Lily, the captain, worthy of particular mention for her contribution, which included a fourth minute individual opening goal. Second half goals from Cannock’s Chloe McIntosh and Pelicans' Fran Ruffell completed the scoring, adding to a 4-0 win on Sunday.
After the match, U16 girls Team Manager Jackie Sharp paid tribute to the squad saying, 'It was difficult for everyone coming away this weekend but the girls played some good hockey and the newer players acquitted themselves well.'
