Junior Girls Crowned Champions 2009

A rare break in the wet and windy weather on Friday 4 December provided the runners for the annual Junior Knole Run beautiful conditions for two great Cross-Country races. With over 200 runners in each of the Boys and Girls races, and 39 different schools being represented, it was certainly set to be a tough day of competition.

In the team standings an excellent combined effort from team captain Georgina Barker (6th), Sarah Dodds (9th), Susannah Gordon (13th) and Lizzie Warwick-Champion (19th) gave Sevenoaks Junior Girls a total of 47 points and meant they were crowned champions! Dulwich Prep came 2nd with 55 points and Alleyn’s 3rd with 69 points.

The Boys Race also displayed an equally high level of effort and excellence. Renny Smith from Parkside School finished 1st, Timothy Faes from Yardley Court 2nd, and James Oliver from Hurstpierpoint College in 3rd. In the team standings Parkside were crowned Champions with an outstanding 29 points, Yardley Court 2nd with 53 points and Dulwich Prep in 3rd with 72 points.

Sevenoaks School would like to thank Lord Sackville, the Knole Estate and the National Trust for allowing the school to host the event once again.
