In March, during our holiday, Dartford Grammar School, joined by Tonbridge Grammar School and Sevenoaks hosted IB subject managers from the IB’s world Curriculum and Assessment centre in Cardiff. The day gave the opportunity for IB Subject Managers to see the courses they oversee delivered in a live setting, to talk to teachers and students working with the various subject specifications, and to discuss the continued development of IB assessment. We discussed, among other things, the future role of e-marking, the development of various specifications and the role of examiner feedback for teachers and students.
It was an excellent reminder for the team at IB that their work on the specifications and assessment has direct implications for IB students across the world, and an excellent reminder for school administration and teachers to see the faces behind the exams. It was a great opportunity to develop relationships which will better inform Sevenoaks’ administration and delivery of the IB courses and to influence future developments.
