On Saturday 17 November the school Gamelan group were invited to
participate in the Arthur Davison Family Concert programme at the
Fairfield Hall, Croydon.
The Indonesian Gamelan was
purchased from Java in 2001 and was named “Kyi Nogo Alit” in a special
ceremony. Since then it has been used in numerous workshops with
pupils from schools in the area. The group also performed at the
re-opening of the Festival Hall.
On Saturday they performed
a specially written piece by Simon Hendry to be played with the
Guildford Symphony Orchestra. The concert hall was packed with parents
and young children.
