The Founder’s Bursary Fund

The school’s founder, William Sevenoke, was an orphan who was raised and educated through the benevolence of a local landowner. He went on to be a successful merchant, and in 1418 became Mayor and Chief Magistrate of the City of London.

William Sevenoke’s gratitude for his own education established what is his enduring legacy: Sevenoaks School.

Today the school enjoys an outstanding reputation as one of the leading International Baccalaureate schools in the world – an aspirational, forward-thinking and successful institution.

We remain committed to William Sevenoke’s founding vision of a school open to scholars from diverse backgrounds, made possible through the provision of essential financial support.

Today nearly one in 20 of our students is in receipt of means-tested financial support from the school, however we know that there are many more who would benefit from such an opportunity. Our aim is to double this provision within the next decade which is why we have launched the Founder’s Bursary Fund.

Through donations to the Founder’s Bursary Fund we will be able to provide financial support to children who would benefit from a Sevenoaks School education but who might otherwise not be able to attend.

Sevenoaks School is not richly endowed, and achieving this goal will only be possible through the generous support of parents, alumni and friends. Every gift will make a difference - to contribute to this effort please donate online now or contact us for more information.
