Jon and Jan Gray generously hosted a reception for the Friends of Sevenoaks School Association in Singapore at their lovely home on Wednesday 28 November 2007.  Mrs Katy Ricks, Head of Sevenoaks School, who was in Singapore to attend an IB conference that week also attended the event.

The Friends Association helps to promote the school, keep parents and former students in the region informed of achievements and developments at Sevenoaks and to assist students visiting or passing through Singapore.

On Tuesday 16 October 2007 The Head, Mrs Katy Ricks, hosted dinner at the Presidio Golf Course Clubhouse, San Francisco for parents of current and former students and members of the alumni living in California.

The evening began at 6 pm with pre-dinner drinks and was followed by a power-point presentation about the school's achievements during the last year and our plans for the school's continuing development by the Head and John Walton, the Development Director.

It was a very successful and lively evening, greatly enjoyed by the guests.  The dinner was very generously sponsored by one of the guests.

On 9 October 2007 the Friends of Sevenoaks School Association met at the Lumiere restaurant in IFC 2 in Hong Kong Central.  The event was hosted by the current co-ordinators of the group, Neil and Anne Langley-Evans

The Head, Mrs Katy Ricks and the Chairman of Governors, Mr Robert Sackville-West, hosted a reception in Brussels on Thursday 21 June 2007.  They were accompanied by the Development Director, John Walton.

Guests included the parents of current students, parents of former students and members of the alumni - one alumnus had only left the school a few weeks previously while another had left in 1969.

During the reception guests listened to a presentation about the school containing news of recent achievements of our students, the Head's vision for the school and details of the next phase of our development plans.  This included breaking news of the submission of a planning application to the Sevenoaks local authority that week for a new performing arts centre.  Completion of this project is scheduled for early 2010.

The reception was held at the offices of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Bastion Tower by generous permission of parents of two students currently at the school.

The Head, accompanied by the Chairman of Governors, Mr Robert Sackville-West and the Development Director, John Walton visited India in January 2007.  Two receptions were held in Mumbai.  The first at the home of Arvind and Rashmi Jolly on 18 January was for parents interested in sending their children to Sevenoaks School.  Mrs Jolly, Co-President of the voluntary association of Friends of Sevenoaks School in Mumbai generously hosted the reception.

The Head, Mrs Katy Ricks gave a presentation about the school just after sunset in the lovely garden of Mrs Jolly's house.

The second reception was held in the lovely Nicholas Piramal Towers, the offices of Nicholas Piramal India Ltd by kind premission of Dr Swati Piramal.  Those invited were current and former parents of students of Sevenoaks School and members of our alumni living in Mumbai and elsewhere in India.  One guest flew in from the United Arab Emirates to attend the reception.

The first meeting of the newly formed Friends of Sevenoaks School Asscoation in Singapore was held on 17 November 2006 at the house of current parents.

Seventeen guests - a mix of current and former parents and Old Sennockians attended the event, which was a great success.  Apologies were received from those who could not attend this particular event but wish to ensure that they come to the next.
