Congratulations to Elizabeth Shaw, who has been awarded the Marguerite Swan Memorial Prize for the highest mark in a Grade 8 cello exam from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. She achieved 143 marks out of 150 in her exam last December.
The Marguerite Swan Memorial Prize is an annual award for those musicians achieving the highest marks in ABRSM cello examinations nationally. Previous winners at Sevenoaks School include Laura Lyttle (Grade 8), Alexander McBride (Grades 8, 4 and 1), David McMenamin (Grades 7 and 5), Oliver Blackwell (Grade 7), Alexander Breedon (Grade 8) and Rachel Dawson (Grade 8).
