This Lower Sixth study trip got off to a slightly hairy start on Thursday 22 March when the wheels of the first coach fell off in the middle lane of the M25. The sheared bolt unbelievably found its way into the windscreen of the second coach, but we made our flight nonetheless!
The students were very attentive at their lecture in the first day, despite nearly 12 hours of travelling. On the second day we visited the ultra-modern Skoda plant followed by some fieldwork in Prague old town, before returning for an hour’s tutorial and then dinner in the hotel. Saturday saw us step back into the much more primitive production of crystal glassware, with furnace and original handmade production and glass cutting, as well as a brewery trip.
