The school would like to congratulate Dr Rachel Yu on the award of her PhD from the Max Planck Institute in Dresden. Dr Yu’s thesis was on the biophysical characterisation of fibroblast growth factor 8 signalling in living zebra fish embryos. This was published in the journal Nature.

Dr Yu joined the Chemistry department in January 2010. Before undertaking her four-year research programme, she read Natural Sciences at Trinity College, Cambridge, where she was awarded a Master of Science degree.
