This year, Sixth Form students from Sevenoaks collected ten coloured certificates in the first round of the International Chemistry Olympiad. Nicole Yim (U6) was awarded a Gold Certificate and other students achieved five Silver and four Bronze Certificates. This was an excellent increase on the number of high level certificates received last year.

On Wednesday 27 April, two teams each comprising four Year 10 students competed in the Kent Section Final of the RSC's Chemistry Challenge, held at the Medway campus of the University of Greenwich.

The event was highly successful with the team of Jasmine Chu, Jeremy Yao, Lindsay Adams and Julia Ganis finishing third and the other team of Patrick Thompson, Hans Lam, Taran Patel and Samir Yep Manzano crowned as Champions of the Kent region. This was the second successive victory for Sevenoaks in this competition.
