On Saturday 30 May, 12 schools from all over England headed to Westbere Lake, just outside Canterbury, for the first BSDRA Schools Sailing event of the summer term.

Sevenoaks entered two teams and with the majority of the regular 1st and 2nd team sailors from this year off doing exams it was a chance for the ‘next generation.’

Sevenoaks A put in a really impressive performance beating many established first teams who still had all their Upper Sixth sailors, going undefeated through the league stage and their semi-final. They met Norwich in the final and unfortunately lost 2-0 in two very close races that could have gone either way.

Sevenoaks B were placed 14th and gained some valuable experience against lots of older sailors which will help them in future events.
