On Wednesday 8 June we had a busy day on campus with two primary school events taking place, as part of the school’s Partnerships programme.

In the morning we welcomed 140 Year 6 pupils from four local primary schools to a Transition Day event. The young pupils got to take part in a variety of STEM challenges, such as making structures from spaghetti and marshmallows, and creating a protective case out of newspaper for the egg drop challenge. We were delighted to have Arty Farty Retreat leading the art workshops and the Sevenoaks Sports department facilitating the Outdoor Adventurous Activities (OAA).

It was a great opportunity for the year 6 pupils to meet-up with peers going to the same schools in September – as well as gaining reassurance and asking the student helpers questions about the transition into secondary education.

In the late afternoon, the sun came out just in time for the Year 5 and 6 Athletics Competition.

Eight local schools attended, with over 90 children taking part in the seven athletic events: 60m, 200m, 400m, relay, ball throw, javelin, and long jump.

Congratulations to Lady Boswell’s Primary School, who finished in first place, and to all the other athletes for their outstanding performance.
