This season saw some phenomenal play by the 4th XI. After eight unbeaten matches, the final goal difference was an incredible 32-1, with the one goal being an unlucky own goal.
We started well with a difficult 3-0 victory against Cranleigh’s 3rd XI. The first victory and a couple of training sessions under our belt, our teamwork and confidence improved and this led to some outstanding wins over Wellington College (4-0), King’s Canterbury (6-0) and Brighton College (10-0). Thanks to solid performances and an amazing team spirit we went into our penultimate game without having conceded a goal.
After an unlucky own goal was let in during the second Cranleigh match the team fought hard and secured a convincing 5-1 victory. Wanting to keep the season unbeaten, we went into the final game against Epsom in festive spirits. However, rather than a celebration this game turned out to be a very tense and physical grass pitch affair, which ended in a rather frustrating 0-0 draw. Special thanks to Liz Orrin, our goalkeeper who was determined to keep the ball out of the goal. Congratulations to our top scorers: Alice Paterson (13 goals), Florence Wood (6 goals) and Ann-Sophie Gernandt (5 goals).
