Alan Adler concert

On Friday 16 March, the audience at the annual Alan Adler concert was treated to an all-Vivaldi programme. Centred around the Four Seasons, the music was directed by the 11 soloists, all of whom took a solo movement each. They were beautifully introduced by George Evans-Thomas and four native Italian students, each of whom read aloud the 18th century sonnets that were written to accompany the concerti. In the middle, the Sennocke Consort performed the spectacular motet for double choir Domine ad adjuvandum me festina, masterfully realising the antiphonal moments in the first movement. There were more spectacular choral moments in the second half, when the school’s Parents Choir joined forces with the Choral Society.
