Congratulations to the following students who passed their aikido gradings on Saturday 11 December in the Sennocke Centre dojo in the presence of Mr Thompson, Mr Ogretme, visiting instructor Amyas Gilbert and senior student Conan Theobald from the Brighton Aikikai club:
Eleanor Riches - 5th Kyu
Michael Moore - 5th Kyu
Huw Watts (Judd student) - 5th Kyu
Matthew Maitra - 6th Kyu
A dozen students attended the two-hour grading course and all participants showed great concentration, stamina and focus. All took part in the formal grading at the end. Some new students were not quite ready for full grading and will receive certificates of course attendance. The visitors, who were officiating on the judging panel with Mr Thompson, were very complimentary about the attitude and progress of the students. The successful students will receive certificates and grading books during the first class after the holidays.
Mr Ogretme filmed the event and acted as official photographer when he was not training with the students.
A great event. Thanks to Mr Dinsdale for supporting the event and making allowances to ensure the dojo was free for the requisite time.
