Science week 2012:

  • Professor Kevin Warwick (Reading University) will talk about Artificial Intelligence
  • Dr Richard Harvey (UEA) will talk about Computer Science – the Lip Reading Software
  • Code Breaking workshop and competition run by the Maths department
  • Visit from Bletchley Park outreach
  • Friday 23 March: A team of teachers will be running the Hastings half-marathon for LGBT awareness
  • Friday 20 April: Tony Fenwick (Chair of LGBT History) will talk about Turing during the awareness week.

Sevenoaks School is running a code breaking competition to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Alan Turing, war time code breaker and computing pioneer. Entry is open to all UK school students from Year 5 to Year 13 at www.codebreakchallenge.co.uk.

We are also entering teams into two major National Competitions:
The National Cipher Challenge: run by Southampton University
Animate12: A software development competition run by Manchester University
